Settlement Processor

Cedar Knolls, New Jersey

Job Summary: The Settlement Processor is responsible for pre-closing, coordination with lenders, preparing closing statements, preparation and recording of documents and making appropriate disbursements associated with the settlement and post-closing.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and clear title
  • Identify underwriting concerns
  • Prepare Closing Disclosures and HUD when applicable
  • Confirmation of tax searches
  • Complete file check lists
  • Obtain documents from buyers and sellers
  • Obtain documents from lenders
  • Other duties as required

Education and Experience:

  • 1-5 years in title clearance and settlement
  • Ambition towards a long-term career in the title industry preferred
  • High school diploma or Higher
  • Must hold a Title Producer License or be able to obtain on within 90 days of start
  • Notary or be willing to acquire within 90 days start
  • Valid, clean driver’s license
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities
  • Intermediate MS Office experience with emphasis on Word preferred
  • Experience in TitleDesktop or similar Title related software
  • Must pass back ground checks for crime and credit

Title Officer

Cedar Knolls, New Jersey

The Production Division is responsible for providing customer services and issuing commitments. The ideal candidate has 5-10 years’ experience examining county and other related records for the issuance of the commitments, endorsements and policies to the appropriate parties.

Job Summary: Responsible for examining county, tax and upper court searches, issuing title commitments and endorsements and communicating with clients and our settlement department to progress real estate transaction toward closing.

Responsibilities:

  • Examine and verify state, county and municipal searches from outside abstractors
  • Prepare title commitments, endorsements and title policies.
  • Accept and resolve various phone and email requests from attorneys, lenders and underwriters
  • Communicate with county searchers to obtain necessary document copies needed to fully examine properties as needed
  • Analyze chain of title and preparation of reports outlining title-related matters
  • Interface with settlement department to address and resolve outstanding title requirements prior to closing
  • Search, analyze, and evaluate records relating to titles for both residential and commercial real estate transactions
  • Issue title insurance commitments and endorsements, acquire rights of way, buy and sell property, grant mortgage loans, and obtain and protect mineral rights
  • Examine deeds, deeds of trust, liens, judgments, easements, and plats/maps to determine ownership, encumbrances, and to verify legal descriptions of property
  • Examine county searchers and prepare title commitments for properties that have been through foreclosure or are being conveyed out by an estate
  • Communicate as needed with underwriting counsel for clarity and confirmation regarding certain high-risk insurance situations
  • Review and insurance documents for real estate transactions.

Education and Experience:

  •  5-10 years of detail examining experience
  • Ambition towards a long-term career in Title preferred]
  • Associates Degree or Higher
  • Must hold a Title Producer License
  • Notary or be willing to acquire within 90 days
  •  Valid, clean driver’s license
  • Must be a quick learner, able to adapt easily to fast-paced, high volume environment
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities
  • Intermediate MS Office experience with emphasis on Word preferred
  • Experience in TitleDesktop or similar Title related software
